Advancing Composite Materials through Multiscale Modeling

Funding Agencies: ARL, DARPA, DuPont and NASA

Partners: UD Caviness Cluster, ASC, SAMPE, industry collaborators

CCM is advancing predictive, multiscale modeling capabilities that link atomistic physics to composite performance. By integrating atomistic simulations with rigorous experimental validation, this effort connects material processing, microstructure, and mechanical response across length scales. The resulting models enable physics-based prediction of processing effects, stress–strain behavior, and failure mechanisms, accelerating the design and optimization of high-performance composites.
