Dimensions Window

Click on the thumb nail for larger image

The dimension tab is used to enter information about the lamiante, stacking sequence and if necessary ply by ply data.

No of Plies : This value corresponds to the number of plies in the laminate. For design purposes the number of plies is considered as a whole integer value

  • The Symmentry button makes the laminate symmetrical through out.
  • Send to WB button sends the current laminate data to the work bench.

Thickness :  This corresponds to the thickness of each ply in the laminate.

Orientation :  This gives the direction of each ply in the laminate .

Workbench : Used to enter sub laminate data.

  • Size: The drop down box gives the number of possible sublaminates for a given no of plies in the laminate .
  • Fill: This button fills the rest of the sublaminate with the data of the first ply.
  • Symmetry: Makes the sublaminate symmetrical.
  • Send: This button fills the laminate with the sublaminate data.
The plot simply shows the ply material ID, orientation and ply thickness in a graphical format. It can be used to quickly see problems with laminate stacking sequence or material ID specifications for large stacking sequences.
