cST - Ballistic event modeling

Joint Design Module for Ballistic Impact

Variant Analysis

User can vary following parameters and observe effect on impact energies, static equivalent forces, bolt stress and FOS:

  • Plate size
  • Plate Thickness
  • Plate Modulus
  • Plate Poisson's Ratio
  • Plate
  • Bolt Strength
  • Support Spring constant
  • Bolt Diameter
  • No. of bolts
  • Mass of Projectile
  • Diameter of Projectile
  • Damage angle
  • Localized Shear damage                                          Click on the image for a bigger picture

Symmetric Sandwich Beam Analysis

  • Analytical model developed to predict structural compliance of sandwich beams consisting of stiff outer adherends joined by a flexible middle layer*
  • Model Inputs
    • Beam and rubber stiffness.
    • Beam dimensions, beam overhang
  • Model Outputs
    • Beam compliance (Erub ? 0)
    • Beam compliance (Erub = 0)
    • Beam compliance with overhang and limiting compliance for overhang.
    • Corresponding beam stiffnesses for all above cases.
    • Variant analysis of all inputs.
