2011 UNDERGRADUATE
Research SYMPOSIUM
On August 3, 2011, a strong tradition of undergraduate research continued as students presented the results of their work. Each symposium session consisted of brief introductions of the students' work, followed a poster session.
At the end of the day, five winners of top poster awards left with $100 checks and were on their way to present their work at the University’s Undergraduate Research Symposium the next day.
Winners of the best poster awards were as follows:
1st Place" Devin Prate—Investigation of spect Ratio Effectts of Glass Fiber in Polycarbonate Composites
2nd Place: Britannia Vondrasek—Processing of Nanostructured Electroactive Com[posite Films for Sensing Applications
4th Place: Andrew Beauchemin—Modeling the Ballistic Penetration of Thick-Section Composites on a Rigid Support
5th Place: Kayla Dunbar—Experiment and Modeling of Sandwich Composite Under Impact Loading Conditions
6th Place: Richard Readdy—Automation of the VARTM Process using Electromagnetism
