An Interdisciplinary Education
in Composites at UD
The Education
of students for academia, industry, and government is one of UD-CCM's
primary objectives. Our students also have the opportunity to interact
with visiting students, faculty,
and researchers from industry,
government agencies, and other universities in the U.S. and abroad.
The philosophy underlying graduate and undergraduate research programs
at UD-CCM is that development of students into productive, proactive engineers
is best accomplished in an environment of discovery, where research is
an integral part of education and where students play an integral role
in solving real-world problems.
Composites-related
educational opportunities for ARL scientists and engineers, efforts to
access and involve historically black colleges and universities (HBCU's),
and education of undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral students through
traditional academic programs, summer internship opportunities, and education
through research have been implemented through the UD-CCM's CMR,
CMT, ONR,
and other programs.
