Interface for thin plate impact Model:

A thin plate bending wave model is included in CDS3.0 that can predict the static equivalent forces, bending moments and resultant bolt pullout and shear stresses of a ballistic impact on a plate. This model has been used to identify critical parameters for optimal design of a bolted plate under high velocity impact. The model can predict optimal gap between bolt and plate to prevent shear or bending failure of bolt as well as optimal spacer distance between armor and support structure to prevent collision during impact.
Model inputs include plate size and thickness. plate properties and boundary conditions, number of bolts, bolt properties and dimensions. projectile inputs are mass, dimension and velocity. Plate details also include damage area shape and support type.
The theory for this model is provided in the theory section
